This often ends up with situations where players will have a pack full of items and no real desire to bother using them. Unlike with equipment, where you generally get a few choices as to what you stick with each game, you are bombarded with consumables and have no control of what their effects are. Originally 0.1.0 was meant to be the consumable rework update, but my ideas for shattered were much smaller in scope back then.Ġ.7.0 is focused on two things: giving players way more ability to customize how their consumable items work, and helping players use all of their different consumables effectively. I’ve reworked rings in 0.2.0, wands in 0.3.0, and weapons/armor in 0.4.0 (plus followup updates), and now all that’s left are consumables.

A large amount of information is excluded from item descriptions, such as the effects of blandfruit (massive change in Shattered beta so it just correlates to potions which I will make a post about), blessed vs unblessed Ankhs, average DPS of weapons because currently the number represents per hit not per turn and it doesn't account enchantments or buffs.ĭoes movement increase evasion? Is evasion only short-term? Does evasion decrease next to walls (It does in YAPD)? Somebody please make this concept more unique or at least put this in the guidebook.Shattered 0.7.0 is currently in development, and it is going to be a very substantial consumable overhaul update! This is a huge milestone, as it marks the last ‘item category overhaul’ update shattered will have. Frankly these things should be included in guidebook pages. I also can't find any numbers on this on the wiki. People have said it helps artifacts (cape of thorns), glyphs (thorns), and subclasses (rage) charge faster because it uses damage numbers before armor takes effect. Unlike speed and damage these don't seem to serve any purpose especially long-term.

Speaking of the stone of augmentation, I can't find any numbers for balancing armor defense vs evasion. also increases DPS? The DPS should decrease and be balanced with the benefits such as increased enchantments. Overall, balancing for damage increases total DPS and balancing for speed. When balancing for damage, attack speed is decreased by 40% and damage is increased by 50%. When balancing for speed, damage is decreased by 30% and attack speed is increased by 50%. This isn't a flat +/-50% modifier, so what exactly are the numbers? Without the subclasses, increased armor and better elimination (weaken with ranged attacks). Examples include Assassin subclass having more efficient elimination, Berserker increased rage damage multiplies and they can tank more damage, aaaaand that's all. There are also benefits to the damage modifier. This can benefit many playstyles like increased chance for using enchantments and battlemage effects, Gladiator using it for more combos, Sniper having more use of the armor bypass, ranged weapons can get an extra attack extra turns allows for increased consistancy (including a side-effect of increased accuracy) to regulate health and damage, and ability to get in an extra hit in before they attack. In Shattered, you can balance a weapon with this item to be lighter or heavier. The intended use is not a buff but a change in playstyle prioritizing how you use the weapon.
